BIO
Born in Rome the October 16 1992, Riccardo Moccia is a producer, playwright, actor, composer, guitarist, singer and sound engineer.
He started to play guitar at the age of 11 with the idea to become a composer and until the age of 20 he studied in various school music with also so many different guitar masters, searching for knowledge in every guitar style and composition, in particular for jazz and classical music. In young age he also started and directed many projects like “Shapes in Motion” and “Maschere Vuote”, where he composed and played as a guitarist progressive metal/rock and experimental music. With the project “Maschere Vuote'' he produced the EP “Maschere Vuote'' and the band was inserted in the book “Rock Progressivo Italiano dal 1980 al 2013”.
At the age of 20 he started to study singing (jazz and harmonic, mongolian singing), acting and sound engineering and created “Protesi Project”, a project of theater, cinema and music based on the italian avant garde scene of acting (Carmelo Bene, Antonio Rezza, Alessandro Bergonzoni) who bring him to know people like Antonio Saccà and the cultural association “Il cibo e l'Arte” by Loredana Paolesse, with which he collaborated in so many theatrical drama shows, performances, conferences and events of art.
He started as a soloist producer/artist with the album "Percorsi" in 2019, a jazz/experimental album with the focus on the guitar and voice improvisation, released by Splasc(H) Records. This is the first opera that Riccardo entirely produced and played alone and after that album, he founded “Genes Production” as a label/home studio, with the idea to become a real system of audio/video production.
Two short movies has been released through “Genes Production”, “Vanitas Vanitatum et Omnia Vanitas” and “Vita e Morte di un Poeta Qualunque”.
In 2020 and 2021 he created and produced the soundtracks for the theatrical shows “Giallo Raffaello” and “Paradiso dell'Inferno” for the Golden Show Trieste.
In 2021 he produced and released "Concertless", a progressive metal/ avant garde album with which the track “2050” he won the first place in the Fandemonium Unsigned Contest.
In 2022 he released "Sensed", a death/post metal concept album where he brought the harmonic singing and meditational styles of composition in metal music. He also released the single An Old Queen, a progressive metal song which wins the first place of the Royaltimine Worldwide Songwriting Competition.
His last work is "Le Sventure di Kalàf, il Profeta delle Mille Lune", a theatrical (drama) show.
